If No one Shared the Good News

How Would You Hear It?

Its a stormy night. The roads are nearly invisible due to heavy rain. Driving down a dark narrow road, you are flagged down by another motorist. The bridge ahead has been washed out by flood waters, and by his warning, if you trusted his message, your life would be spared!

Wouldn't you be thankful that he took the time and effort to warn you about the impending danger?

Its the same with sharing Christ.

The Gospel message of salvation is both good news, and a stern warning that without having Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are destined to eternal death - Hell.  If people weren't  warned about the impending doom of eternity without Christ, how could anyone have the opportunity for eternal life?

We openly and boldly share the saving message of the Jesus' death for us on the Cross.  We are all sinners and He died to take the punishment we deserve for our sin.  Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God died so that our sin could be forgiven - if we believe it.                                                  What a wonderful message we share!

In our preaching, testimonies, and gospel outreach we share Christ.  We go out and tell people the good news of Salvation and the free gift of eternal life anyone can have if they would put their trust in Jesus Christ.

God loves you! He created you and wants you to have a relationship with Him.  John 3:16 says "For God So loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son..." Who was that?

Only Sinless Son.. Jesus Christ was God's only Son. He was God in the flesh and came to die and take the punishment of our sin. John 3:16 continues and says "that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish.." Perish means to have eternal death - eternity away from God in Hell, a place of judgement. But why do we deserve punishment? Aren't we basically good?

Sin deserves punishment. Eternal punishment. We all are guilty of sin. Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"  Romans 6:23 says "For the wages {payment} of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" So how do we get eternal life?

Precious Blood. The blood of Jesus Christ gives eternal life! How?  1 John 1:7 says "the blood of Jesus Christ cleans us from ALL Sin".  God will not require you to be accountable for your sin, if you let the blood of Jesus clean your sin away. Its a gift, if you will receive it.  And by believing, you will have something equally special...

Everlasting life! You can live forever in Heaven, if you accept that Jesus Christ died for you.  If you ask Him to forgive you of your sin, and turn away from your old life, you will be saved! Acts 16:31 says "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved"  The end of John 3:16 says that those who believe "have everlasting life"

So what do you have to do?

Let Him into your life! "If you will confess with your own mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" Romans 10:9.  Simply believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.  Ask Him by prayer to forgive you of your sin, and to give you a new life in Him.  Thank Him for giving you eternal life and a home in Heaven because you obeyed Him!
